Implementing our Commitment

Policy

Sentinel Marine acknowledges the severe threat posed by modern slavery and human  trafficking, leading to the implementation of our Modern Slavery Policy in our Integrated  Management System.

This policy serves as a transparent framework, articulating our zero tolerance stance against these reprehensible practices. We are dedicated to upholding  fundamental human rights, ensuring ethical conduct throughout our operations and supply  chain, and actively combating modern slavery in all its forms. We firmly believe in every  individual’s right to live and work free from coercion, exploitation, or abuse, and our Modern  Slavery Policy reinforces this core principle.

Supply Chain and Due Diligence

Sentinel Marine is committed to upholding ethical standards across its supply chain. To this  end, we have introduced a Supplier Questionnaire, mandating suppliers to demonstrate their  commitment to combating modern slavery practices. This questionnaire serves as a vital tool  in evaluating suppliers’ adherence to our ethical standards. Additionally, we conduct supplier  audits to further ensure compliance and ethical conduct throughout our supply chain.

Furthermore, we have implemented a Modern Slavery Risk Assessment tailored for our top  value suppliers. This assessment enables us to identify, mitigate, and monitor any potential  risks of modern slavery within our supply chain. By prioritising these efforts, we reaffirm our  commitment to eradicating modern slavery and promoting ethical business practices  throughout our operations.

Employee Training and Awareness

At Sentinel Marine, we prioritize equipping our employees with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify and combat modern slavery within our business operations. To achieve this, we conduct online training sessions with key personnel sourced externally, focusing  specifically on modern slavery awareness and recognition. These sessions are designed to provide our employees with understanding and practical insights into the signs, risks, and  impacts of modern slavery.

By collaborating with external experts, we ensure that our training programs remain up-to date and aligned with industry best practices. Through this approach, we empower our  employees to recognise and address instances of modern slavery, fostering a culture of  vigilance, responsibility, and ethical conduct across our company.

Governance and Assurance

At Sentinel Marine, we prioritise governance and assurance in our commitment to combating modern slavery and human trafficking. To uphold this dedication, we conduct regular reviews of the Modern Slavery  Index against our Modern Slavery Supplier Risk Assessment.

This ensures that our supply chain  remains vigilant and responsive to the evolving risks of modern slavery. Additionally, we  rigorously adhere to the provisions outlined in the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and follow UK  government guidance, underscoring our commitment to ethical practices and accountability  in the fight against modern slavery.

View full Policy 2024
